About Me

Registered Member MBACP · Person-Centred Counsellor · Northampton

Hi, I'm Stuart Fitzgerald

I'm a qualified person-centred counsellor and mental health professional based in Northampton. I've been working within mental health for the past 40 years and I'm truly passionate about supporting people to grow in strength and confidence, at their own pace, in their own way.

I believe that every person has a natural capacity to grow. My role isn't to lead you or tell you what to do, it's simply to walk alongside you, offering a warm, steady and genuine relationship where you can feel deeply heard and genuinely valued.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (Member No. 419232), fully insured, GDPR compliant and Advanced DBS cleared, so you can feel completely safe and confident in the care you receive.

My Approach Pillars

Every session is built around you, your pace, your needs, your journey.

1

Deep, Attentive Listening

I’ll listen closely to your words, your emotions, and the meanings beneath them. You can expect to feel heard, not rushed, not interrupted, not steered.

I’ll reflect and check in so we stay aligned with your experience.

2

A Pace That Belongs to You

There’s no agenda or timetable for change. You choose what we explore and how deeply we go. Silence, pauses, and gentle unfolding are welcome.

A safe place to explore difficult feelings. You can bring uncertainty, grief, anger, shame, confusion , all of it is allowed.

I’ll hold the space with steadiness and compassion.

You won’t be pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready.

3

Support for your own inner direction

I trust in your natural capacity to grow and make sense of your world. My role is to walk alongside you, not lead you.

Together, we create the conditions for clarity, self‑understanding, and change to emerge.

4

Clear boundaries and reliability

Sessions are consistent, confidential, and held with care.

You can expect professionalism without coldness.
